Our Cognitive Focus
Our After-School Programs, camps, professional development workshops and brain fitness programs were developed to help individuals develop, strengthen and enhance the cognitive abilities that will lead them to a lifetime of successes in the classroom, in the community and within their families. All of our programs use screen-free games and activities to accomplish the desired result. Our programs focus on the following cognitive skills:

The ability to perform tasks quickly, such as scanning, inspecting and comparing of processing incoming visual information quickly and efficiently.

Visual/Auditory Selective Attention
The ability to attend to one task while not being distracted by other inputs.
The ability to shift focus from one task to another quickly and efficiently, when necessary.
The ability to attend to two activities at the same time - such as taking notes and listening to the teacher.
Visual/Auditory Sustained Attention
The ability to stay on task for a sustained period of time.
Visual/Auditory Short-Term Sensory Memory
The ability to screen out unimportant sensory information and keep important information for further processing.

The ability to hold on to sensory information that is not thrown out by sensory memory for up to 30 seconds before you decide to throw out information or send it to the cortex for further processing.
